Our Prices
The lower VAT rate of 15% came into effect on 1st December 2008, but we are
sorry to say that this has coincided with a 15-20% increase on most items
from our main suppliers in 2009. We are in the process of amending prices
throughout the shop accordingly. What PA therefore reserve the right to
change the advertised prices on the website without prior notice and to
decline any order if the advertised price has increased, but this has not
been reflected in the shop before an order is placed. We advise you to
contact us on 01375 892317 to confirm the price before placing an order
online. We still aim to keep our prices as competitive as we can, and will
only pass on increases if we have to.

PA Systems
We offer a valuable and unbiased advice service for people such as schools, PTA
associations and village hall committees who may not have any experience about
PA Systems,
but have been sent to buy one. We can also offer advice to Bands who are just
buying their first
PA system and want to make sure they are
getting something which will last as they grow and get gigs at larger venues.
We sell all the component parts of PA systems such as mixing desks, speakers,
amplifiers, stands, cables etc, and have also gathered some of these together
into PA system
packages suitable for singers, schools, halls, bands etc. and have discounted
them so they're cheaper than buying the items separately.
Wireless Microphones
We get many enquiries about wireless microphones so we hope that
the advice centre covers most of your questions. Wireless microphones are also
known as Radio Mics, and all come with a receiver box which you plug into your
PA System.
In addition to the receiver you can have a Handheld
Wireless
Microphone, a Lapel (or tie clip) Wireless Microphone, or a Headset
Wireless
Microphone. The handheld one contains a battery, and a wireless
transmitter. The Lapel and Tie clip versions connect via a short wire to a Belt
Pack Transmitter which sends the signal to the receiver, which is then
broadcast from the PA System. Some
wireless
microphone systems come with one receiver and two microphones -
these are called Dual systems. Some wireless microphone receivers can be built
into the PA System, such as that in the Portable PA the TEC076. The cheaper
wireless
microphones come with only one channel, which can cause you to get
interference and signal drop out if you are near other radio signals. The
better mics have 16 switchable channels, so you can choose one with no
interference. Hopefully that's given you an overview, and you'll find more
information on wireless microphones in our advice
centre.
